The project in short

The big why

The project was initiated by Corporate Procurement as part of an overall program to minimize raw materials dependencies and hence the overall risk of production related to raw materials.

The main aim of the Coloplast pilot project is to eliminate the need for re-planning and repeated production testing. The goal is to reduce the uncertainties regarding risks, delivery time and use of resources in this project compared to similar projects from the Supply Value Stream department.

Half Double

The two key challenges that the Half Double methodology were to help the project overcome were

  1. facilitation of efficient communication and coordination among the many participants
  2. developing a risk and problem management process that fits into the special situation

What did we do?

Impact
  • Reduce time to impact (less iteration in the execution phase)
  • Increase front-loading into plan using new developed risk / hypothesis lead indicator: reduce time plus right first time
  • Less rework in the Execution phase by collaborative risk identification and timely mitigation
Flow

Multi-site using a combination of project room and virtual engagement of remote stakeholders

High core team allocation in conjunction with less allocated key stakeholders

Maintain high participation in key events by stakeholders with low allocation

Leadership
  • Lead the project in accordance to “What matter the most” – Risk/ hypothesis driven front loading of knowledge
  • Physical attendance of leadership team in Sprint Review sessions
